    The complete Bible which is made up of 66 books, including the Old and New Testaments, is the complete and inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3 v 15-16).God’s Word is the one and only source for both faith and practice (Matthew 24 v 35). Nothing can be added to God’s Word and nothing can be taken away from it (Revelation 22 v 18-19).

    The God of heaven and of the Bible is the only one true God (1 Corinthians 8 v 6). As the creator and controller of the universe He decides and acts according to His sovereign will as ruled by His holiness (Colossians 1 v 15-17). God has always existed in three persons, these being Father, Son and Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13 v 14).

     The Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son (John 20 v 31) is God in flesh and therefore both divine and human (Philippians 2 v 5-8). He was born of a virgin (Matthew 18 v 18-25), lived a life without sin ( 1 Peter 2 v 22) and died upon Calvary’s cross as the ultimate sacrifice for sin (2 Corinthians 5 v 21) then was buried before rising from the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15 v 3-4). He ascended into Heaven and sits on the right hand of the Father and there intercedes for believers (Hebrews 10 v 12-14).The Lord Jesus will return again for His Church (1Thessalonians 4 v 13-18) and then set up His eternal kingdom.

    The Holy Spirit is necessary for salvation, convicts of sin and makes faith possible (John 16 v 7-11) and lives within the believer (Romans 8 v 9).

     Mankind was created in the likeness of God (Genesis 1 v 26-27) but because of sin a separation resulted (Romans 1 v 18-23). Man faces eternal ruin as a result of sin. (Romans 2 v 1).

     Sin has been inherited through the disobedience of Adam and Man’s failure to keep the law of God. (Romans 3 v 23).

   Salvation is received by repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3 v 16-18) whose shed blood is the only atonement for sin (Hebrews 9 v 28).

    The Church is the ‘Body of Christ’ and not a building but made up of all those who have been saved through His precious blood. Christ is the Head (Ephesians 1 v 22-23).When the Lord Jesus returns for His Church he will present it to Himself as a glorious body of people (Ephesians 5 v 27).

      Christians meet together as a local assembly for worship, ministry, prayer, preaching the gospel, evangelism and fellowship (Acts 2 v 41-42).

Christian Baptism involving total immersion in water is an act of obedience, signifying new birth in Christ and the death and burial of the old life (Acts 6 v 3-5).

The Breaking of Bread is a weekly remembrance on the first day of the week as instituted by the Lord Jesus himself, the bread symbolising His broken body and the wine His outpoured blood (Luke 22 v 19-20).

We look for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ when the dead in Christ will rise first followed by those living Christians who remain and so be for ever with the Lord. (Thessalonians 4 v 16-17).
